Kevin Furber - A Creative Talent

Our meeting on the 13th March was a high octane event! We welcomed Kevin Furber Director of Creative Talent Management, who are based at Hapton.

Kevin is well known in the Rallying world. He was an official Peugeot rally team driver in the 1980's.

He has maintained his interest in Motorsport but now channels it through his video company

Kevin Furber at the wheel in the Peugeot, in 2008.

We were taken on a high speed journey through his career. A trip, on film, in his Peugeot T16 4wd rally car certainly got the pulse rate going.

He took us to the Le Mans 24 race in 2008. He was there as the official Aston Martin cameraman to record their class victory in that years event. Whilst the race is 24hrs the camera team actually didn't get any sleep for approximately 36 hrs. Who said film making's glamorous!

A discussion on the do's and don't's of flying a drone proved most enlightening, it's not all plain sailing. Permits are essential for drone pilots, they're not toys. There were several items of equipment on show, unfortunately he remembered to take them home with him.

Kevin showed us several clips of corporate productions from his company. One of his favourites being a production made for HAPPA, the local Horse and Pony Protection Association.

We also welcomed two potential new members to our meeting and we look forward to seeing them again for the rest of our season.

Thank you to Kevin for taking the time and trouble to come to Higham and give us a very interesting and entertaining evening. Keith (Photographs Now On Site)
