IMPORTANT NOTICE
Burnley Film Festival on 15th March 2020 - POSTPONED
It is with regret that the Committee of Burnley Film Makers has decided that the 2020 Festival planned for Sunday the 15th March must be postponed. This is entirely due to the Coronavirus situation. I have been watching, listening and reading to various media and paying particular attention to the scientists and relating their recommendations to our group and programme.
Committee members are in agreement that the health of our members and of our friends intending to visit the Festival is paramount. No doubt members of the club as well as guests at the Festival will be sorry but relieved that they don’t have to decide whether they should come or not. With the decision to postpone made, we shall now discuss the options available and what is preferable and feasible. We will consult our members at this week’s meeting and Festival Organiser, Ron Harrison, will be contacting clubs immediately. As soon as we have come up with a plan we will give all those who have paid for tickets, the option to attend any re-arranged Festival or alternative event or to have their monies returned.
On behalf of the Committee and Burnley Film Makers I can only apologise for any inconvenience caused but hope that all affected will understand the reason for taking this action.
